PROUD TO BE IN AUVERGNE-RHONE-ALPES

SSW MACHINES are moving into the heart of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The German Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen (SW Machines) Group, whose HQ is in Schramberg-Waldmössingen (in the heart of the Black Forest), has just opened a French subsidiary in the new Cap & Co business district in Montluel (Ain).  This will help them grow and cement their presence in France.

The Group has more than 1,000 employees around the world and posts a consolidated turnover of more than 350 million euros. SW Machines is already active in Spain, the USA, Mexico, China, Russia and South Korea, and is looking to expand into other countries too. With an existing 120 machines already in France, the management team at SW Machines made the move to be closer to their existing and future clients. In addition to this site, they’ve opened other new subsidiaries in France, Italy and Poland.

The French subsidiary is tasked with sales in France and French-speaking countries, plus their client services division (maintenance, expertise and repairs).

SW Machines are specialised in machining, automated solutions and systems in cutting-edge industries which demand great precision and high levels of productivity. In addition to their various applications in the automobile industry, SW’s solutions are adapted to farming and construction machines, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Other fields, such as medicine and clock-making, are also highly promising, thanks to their increasing reliance on multi-spindle machines for their production requirements.

Assisted by the Ain branch of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises in their move to the Region (site research, visits, presentation of the job catchment area and key local areas of excellence, forming contacts with local businesses), the director of SW France, Régis ALEXANDRE, decided to rent out 400m² of brand new premises.  This is a true reflection of the SW Group’s reputation for excellence. The building includes 200m² of office space on the first floor for the management and the sales/telephone support teams, plus 200m² on the ground floor for the technical teams.  In time, this space could even be used as a showroom for SW Machines. “This location keeps us within reach of our strategic clients and the major access routes (the A42, A40 and A46 motorways).  We’re also just a stone’s throw of the greater Lyon area and the Lyon Saint Exupéry international airport.”

Initially, the site will employ ten or so people. The company is however looking to recruit new talent for various positions: sales assistant and client services, travelling client service technicians, client service coordinator, technical sales managers and project engineers.
