Ardèche

The Ardèche department is an experimentation area for the “Transition Collective” system. Its aim is to anticipate economic changes within companies by supporting volunteer employees that decide to retrain in a clear, well-prepared and fully-accepted manner. In this scheme funded by the State, employees retain their wages and employment contract while they retrain, with the aim of getting a new promising career in the same catchment area.

The automotive construction and equipment sector is helped by the presence of Vilesta,
a group of companies in the industrial and leisure vehicles sector. With over 40 local
members, Vilesta is a major player promoting links between manufacturers in this sector.
The strength of the sector in Ardèche also lies in the many players involved over the entire
chain of automotive subcontracting.
Competitive hubs and clusters located throughout the department also help in the
structuring and animation of the various sectors. These include:

  • CARA, CIMES and Tenerrdis for the automotive industry,
  • Vegepolys Valley, Innov’Alliance, ARIA or Cluster Bio for the agri-food industry,
  • Techtera for the textile industry.

Focus on … THE JEWELLERY SECTOR

The Ardèche department specialises in the production of jewellery, specifically in the “Vallée du bijou”, which gathers companies, exhibition spaces, a living museum space and a jewellery business incubator. The Vallée du Bijou helps local players interact as part of a dynamic ecosystem.
The Lycée Amblard (Valence), also close by, trains students in various jewellery trades.
